Every day of our living, our existence, is filled with emotions, a plethora of them, that take us high, riding the crest of the wave some times while burying us deep under fifty feet of crap, sifting through muck at other times. And as someone who has had a fairly reasonable amount of experience in, well, living, which included several billion sessions of introspection and over-thinking and philosophizing, I have learnt that:
1) The greatest joys are not necessarily the extravagant ones – the new pair of Zara pants might make you happy but that hand-made card that your little sister gave you for your birthday is infinitesimally more precious.
2) Little victories are the ones that keep you going – you could have a big, fat promotion and get a raise but the ‘good job’s and the ‘great work’s which come your way on a daily basis that make you want to do better.
Which is why small miracles delight me and small victories and milestones mean a lot.
On another note, when I came to the blogger world, I met a lot of people – some like me, some different, some pretty, some vain, some strong, some pretend-strong but some people, a special set, always remain with me, in my thoughts. I never really reach out and talk to them but random words, things, places set off memories related to these people who I silently admire/love.
One of those people, a pretty girl with pixie-like hair and an infectious smile, who I imagine to have a soft voice and twinkly eyes, started something beautiful this time, last year. Something that I’d love to do but I’m no good at. Something that is pretty, darn cool.
Where am I going with all this?
Presenting, Carousel by Twisha.
Go check.
I can’t imagine why you wouldn’t love those pretty, pretty things that she comes up with – classy, subtle, delicate yet oh-I-want-that-so-bad things that you didn’t have before but now that you have seen it, you don’t want to live without.
Let me illustrate – I saw a multipurpose box on the page and I knew I wanted one. So after a few messages back and forth, this is what I got.
You can only imagine how much I jumped up and down when this came in the mail. And I can only imagine what colleagues would have thought of a grown woman jumping up and down without any lady-like restraint. But this reminder of one of my favorite possessions in the world, my blog, on a box that holds what’s most dear to me is something that I will always be thankful to Twisha for.
Handmade by Carousel turns one today. And Twisha is that generous soul who is having a giveaway at her place.
Pretty cool stuff up for grabs. You could win:
1) This Fashionista Multipurpose Box
2) Or A Personalized Tea-Light Votive
3) Or This Personalized Multi-Purpose Wall Hook
Participate in the rafflecopter thingy below, spread the word and fall in love with beautiful little things that spread a little cheer in this grumpy world. Go on!
